My recommendation here is to spend the extra time in the Old World, farming up Thorium until you get up to 330. The good news is, however, that you only need to get Blacksmithing up to 350 to be able to start making Northrend/WotLK recipes (Cobalt), and there is a an Old World recipe that can get you up to 330 - Thoriumgamaschen. Kommentar von FonzyA warning now to anyone leveling up Blacksmithing and Mining simultaneously, now that Cross-Realm Zones are live:īecause Hellfire Peninsula is essentially a bottleneck for both factions, you might find Fel Iron nodes in extremely short supply when you get to HFP. :/Įdit: In Patch 2.4.3, green quality gems were re-introduced to Fel Iron Deposits (as well as Adamantite/Rich Adamantite Deposits) so disregard the above. So in terms of its WoW information, my post was entirely accurate and yet still down-rated, because I was wrong about blue never confirming it, apparently. ![]() ![]() (Khorium Veins might still yield uncommon gems, but I didn't mine enough of them to conclusively rule the possibility out.) This was likely done in an effort to inflate the value of the previously almost worthless uncommon gems, which can now only be obtained via prospecting (and as world drops).Īs far as I can discern the drop rate of rare quality (blue) gems from the aforementioned nodes is unchanged, however.Įdit: Ok, confirmed by blue. This has not been confirmed by blue, but is merely my observation after having mined roughly 26 stacks of ore in Outland since patch 2.4.1 without looting a single uncommon gem. Kommentar von Kefra As of patch 2.4.1 2.2 (edit: thanks for pointing this out) Fel Iron Deposits (along with Adamantite Deposits) no longer yield gems of uncommon (green) quality. If you wanted to do the western side, I believe that a good path would involve Fallen Sky Ridge to Ruins of Sha'naar to the entrance of the Den of Haal'esh, and then over the Great Fissure towards the Pools of Aggonar. Be sure (if you can) to go down completely because there is usually more deposits down there.Īnd that's my path for the eastern part of Hellfire. Flying mounts prevail here as you'll be able to avoid the mass of orcs, but the ore usually rests on the cliffs on the sides of the Path of Glory. But keep going northeast until you reach the Legion Front. On the cliff where all the spectral footmen stand in a line, I have found three in a row, so be sure to examine there. ![]() Next, head east along the edge of the Peninsula until you reach the Expedition Armory, where there is usually at least one. Then head southwest over the felboar and underground worm basin until you get to the ravager base before Terokkar. Kommentar von 97488While I was in Hellfire Peninsula, I used this path to farm fel iron and it worked great for me:įirst, start at the bottom of the Peninsula, near Honor Hold.
